Jazz A La Creole is a historic New Orleans jazz album originally made for Rudi Blesh's Circle label. Featuring material cut between 1946 and 1951, the proceedings are largely led by drummer Baby Dodds and also feature clarinetist Albert Nicholas, pianists Don Ewell and James P. Johnson, banjo player Danny Barker and bassist Pops Foster. The record is famous for its inclusion of some of the very first unaccompanied drum solos ever recorded while "Manhattan Stomp" and "Danny's Banjo Blues" are excellent showcases for Ewell and Barker respectively.
